What Does a C-34 License Cover?

Fabricates and installs pipelines for conveyance of fluids such as water, gas, or petroleum, including protective coatings and the trenching, boring, shoring, backfilling, compacting, paving, and surfacing to complete installation.

Hiring a Pipeline Contractor

Pipeline work may require encroachment permits for work in public rights-of-way. Verify the contractor carries adequate insurance for underground utility work and ask about their locate and mark procedures to avoid existing utility conflicts.

A California contractor license is generally required when a project costs $1,000 or more in combined labor and materials, requires a building permit, or uses additional workers. Small jobs cannot be split from a larger project to qualify for the exemption. Read the CSLB requirements.
